Constantin Luser (*1976 in Graz, lives and works in Vienna) creates diverse landscapes of meaning in his mostly large-format drawings that dispense with a determined reading direction, thus allowing the viewers to access them in an associative manner. He contributed the large-scale wall work Der große Rückblick, which was three-dimensionally expanded by five filigree brass sculptures, to the show Jed Martin – The Map is More Interesting Than the Territory at the Kunstverein.

The works of the series Reflections produced by the artist for this year’s editions also play with the spatial expansion of two-dimensional drawings. The lines applied with permanent markers on two glass panels and mirrors attain an imaginary reverse side through the choice of the picture medium. At the same time, the multiply staggered outlines intensify the sense of corporeality and refraction of light, so that the system of lines is expanded to several layers and the drawings appear to blast their two-dimensional ground.
