Bent Angelo Jensen, My Eden Eyes, 2009

The Kunstverein has been collaborating with the Hamburg-based fashion label Herr von Eden since 2009. The two institutions work closely to explore new possibilities for presenting and expressing content and form, and to expand and break down traditional boundaries between genres. This year’s limited edition should also be viewed in this context. The glasses were designed by Bent Angelo Jensen – designer and founder of Herr von Eden – in collaboration with Berlin glasses label Mykita. The glasses have unusually thick frames and the wearer looks through slide-like slots that show the world in 16:9 widescreen format. The model – inspired by Hollywood legends and Disney’s Beagle Boys – treads the line between design and functionality. The acetate frames are finished with chrome plating, making each pair unique. The glasses are handmade, suitable for men and women and can also be used as sunglasses with the appropriate lenses.

Bent Angelo Jensen (born 1977, lives in Hamburg) founded Herr von Eden as a boutique in Hamburg in 1998. The label produces both men’s and women’s collections and accessories. Herr von Eden is well-established on the art and cultural scene and has dressed supervisory staff at the Deichtorhallen, among others.
