Rupprecht Matthies studied art at Hochschule für bildende Künste Hamburg and sociology at University Hamburg. He received Saxony's art price for tolerance and demokracy. Recently he showed his works at Denver Art Museum, at Museum Moderner Kunst Kärnten, Klagenfurt and Hamburger Kunsthalle.
