Publishing today takes many forms, be it in the traditional forms of print or the immediacy of online posts, it is clear that it holds a central position in our highly mediated culture, and by extension, to what appears to us as forms of artistic practice. As the verb publish implies, “publishing” can almost be any act of going public. MAGAZINE reevaluates the public in "publication" by thinking of the ten-week exhibition period as a place in which certain concerns surrounding contemporary art and publishing are made public: artist publishing, the role of criticism, the relationship between performance and script, the distribution of the art object, the artist as author, and the work and its description.
