Ida Lennartsson (*1982 in Mjölby, SE, lives in Hamburg, GER) studied Fine Arts in Oslo and Hamburg, where she graduated in 2013. Her objects portray the traces and imprints of bodies and ask for the reciprocal relations of physical expression and sensation or even desire. Her work "Ballroom Dancing (A dance for decay)" is a cast of the palm of a clenched fist, which is made out of clay. It is presented hanging behind a glass leaning against the wall. The powerful gesture Lennartsson is taking as a starting point, is contrasted by the fragility of the material. Her object refers to a past interaction with a counterpart and transfers a passing moment into the permanent trace of a gesture.
