Los Angeles is domicile of a highly profitable porn industry, for which Jeff Burton worked as photographer taking film stills for use on covers of videos and for secondary use in magazines. Over the course of time Burton changed his perspective and turned away from the centre of attention. Instead, he started to focus on details or interieurs. The evolving photographs on one hand document the film location, mostly overtly luxurious homes of newly rich, on the other hand they present, from time to time humurously, props rendered absurd in isolation, witnesses of the chaos on the set. The actors nonetheless remain part of the frame but are usually marginalised or not clearly visible. The edition for the Kunstverein focusses on a blue cable running across an exotic woods table whereas in the mirroring surface of the table one can identify two actors at work.
