Pinocchio, 2002

550* Euro

Stefan Kern (*1966, lives in Hamburg) tackles the parameters of art presentation and its concomitant White Cube in his sculptures and installations that are formally rooted in the tradition of Minimal Art. His objects feature an intended usability and therefore intensify the relationship between work, exhibition space and viewer. When they are conceived as speaker’s desk, bench or tree house for example the aura of autonomy is put into perspective. On the occasion of his solo exhibition at the Kunstverein in 2002 he produced "Pinocchio", an object conceived as holder for milk bags with oscillating meaning between work, narration, commodity and viewer/user.
