The Swedish artist Karl Larsson (*1977 in Kristianstad, SE, lives in Malmö, SE) interdigitates writing, language, poetry and image moments in his work to refer to specific stories and characters. The two motifs of the screen prints are based on two objects, which are shown in his current exhibition "North Western Prose" at Kunstverein in Hamburg. The work „Portrait with one figure and one color“ is the portrait of the concrete sculpture "You must be able to interrupt a friendly conversation at all moments," which refers to a figure found in urban space. The print „Portrait with one figure and two colors“ is emanating from the object "I saw you believe me“, which appears as a transformed chair. In the screen prints Larsson's objects are recompiled and the line, the surface and the subject are put together in a renewed dynamic interplay.
