Cana Bilir-Meier is concerned with private and public archives and the stories hidden in them - most of which are not told - with a special focus on (post-)migrant worlds of experience. In her work, Bilir-Meier investigates questions of social, cultural, emotional and structural participation and equality for all. To this end she uses a wide range of media such as film, drawing, performance or audio.
The publication discusses aspects of social diversity, participation, historical exclusions and migrant knowledge. On the occasion of her solo exhibition at the Kunstverein in Hamburg, Cana Bilir-Meier's first monograph is published.
